Veteran actress and scriptwriter Mely Tagasa, best known for her role as Miss Tapia in “Iskul Bukol” passed away this morning, Saturday March 24, 2018 several hours after her family decided to remove her life support.
Mely had been comatose for a week after suffering a massive stroke and confined at Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
Mely best remembered for her role as Miss Tapia a terror teacher with her hairstyle and wearing eye glasses in the sitcom, Iskul Bukol, which ran from 1977 to 1990.
Mely’s daughter, Gina Marissa confirmed the sad news on her personal Facebook account:
“At 12:26 AM our dearly beloved Miss Tapia has joined our creator. The gates of heaven open for her. We love you very much ma.”
Mely will be celebrating 83rd birthday on April 16.
She was last seen in public, when she personally accepted her Walk of Fame star in November 2017.
